We received a Silkie security blanket as a gift when we had our first child, 10 years ago. He loved it so much, we bought silkies for each of our next 3 children. They can't live without them. The original silkie had to be retired after 3 years because it had been loved "too much", and we bought another, plus a "back-up" in case anything happened to one of the others for the other children. Unfortunately, this backfired on us, because when our 2 year old daughter discovered the extra silkie, she quickly claimed it as her own, and from then on had to have BOTH silkies wherever she went. This, of course, prompted everyone else to need 2 (or it wouldn't be fair). So we are proud to be an 8 silkie household! Since we love the silkies so much, we give them as gifts to all of our friends for their children, along with our story.

My cousin introduced Comfort Silkie to me a few years ago. Once my friends started having babies I became hooked on buying as a birth gift - timeless and personable. I must have ordered over 2 dozen in recent years and continue to do so every time a friend has a baby!
